UGC Net Exam (Paper) Cancelled, Check New Rescheduled Date

To ensure the highest level of transparency and integrity in the examination process, the Ministry of Education has decided to cancel the UGC-NET June examination. This year, the exam was conducted in pen and paper mode. The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the cancellation due to initial evidence indicating a compromise in the exam’s integrity. The case of examination irregularities will handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation. Now, UGC-NET June will be conducted between 21 August to 04 September in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Latest UGC-NET Update :

• The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the UGC-NET June Examination in OMR (pen and paper) mode on 18th June, in two shifts across various cities.
• On 19th June, , the University Grants Commission (UGC) received inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
• These inputs suggested that the integrity of the examination may have compromised.
• To ensure transparency and sanctity, the Ministry of Education decided to cancel the UGC-NET June Examination.
• The case has handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (C.B.I.) for further investigation.
• Fresh dates have been issued by UGC, UGC-NET Jun will be conducted from 21 August to 04 September .

NET cancelled amid row over NEET :

• The Ministry’s decision to cancel the UGC-NET comes amid a significant controversy over the NEET medical entrance exam.

Announcement of New Dates :

1. The NTA has ordered a fresh probe into the UGC NET Exam cancellation.
2. The matter has handed over to the CBI for investigation.
3. New dates for the NTA UGC NET June Exam have been announced. Exam will be conducted from 21 August to 04 September .
4. List of cities where exams being conducted will be uploaded on NTA’s official portal 10 days prior to the date of exam. Applicants are requested to check nta.ac.in for more inputs.

UGC NET Details :

• The National Eligibility Test (NET) has conducted exam in pen and paper mode for the first time this year.
• As per new guidelines UGC-NET Jun exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT).
• The exam held on a single day, June 18, , with a record registration of 11 lakh students.
