Srimanta Sankaradeva UNIVERSITY of Health Sciences (SSUHS) has announced the official admission notification for GNM courses under the Directorate of Health Services, Government of Assam, for the 2024-2025 session. The admissions are open for both government and private GNM Training institutes. To facilitate this, an entrance examination, GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE) 2024, will held. Eligible and interested female candidates can submit their online applications for these GNM courses.

SSUHS will conduct the GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE) for admission into the GNM course at various medical institutions under the Directorate of Health Services, Assam. Eligibility Criteria for Assam GNM Admission :
  • Age Limit : Candidates must between 17 to 35 years old as of 31st December 2024.
  • Age Relaxation : There is no age limit for candidates who are ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) or LHV (Lady Health Visitor).
  • al Qualification :
    • Candidates must have passed the 10+2 class, preferably with Science subjects (PCB) and English, achieving an aggregate of 40% marks.
    • Alternatively, candidates with a 10+2 qualification in Arts subjects (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health Care Science — Vocational stream ONLY, from a recognised board under AISSCE /CBSE /ICSE /SSCE /HSCE or other equivalent board with 40% marks are also eligible.
    • Candidates with a 10+2 vocational ANM qualification under the CBSE board or other equivalent boards from schools recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, with 40% marks, are eligible.
  • ANM Registration : Candidates must registered as ANM with the State Nursing Registration Council.
  • Physical Fitness : Candidates must medically fit to qualify for admission.
SSUHS GNM Exam Pattern 2024 :

The GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE) – 2024 consists of 100 multiple-choice questions with each question carrying one mark. There is no negative marking. The exam will conducted in both English and Assamese languages, based on the 10th standard syllabus, and the duration of the exam is 3 hours.
