Admission to M.A. / M.Sc./ M.Com :

• Admission to M.A. / M.Sc./ M.Com. 1st Semester follows the dates mentioned in the Academic calendar of the .
• Graduates under the 10+2+3 pattern from Rajiv Gandhi or any other UGC recognized are eligible for admission with 45% marks in Honours/Major or 50% marks in Pass Course in the subjects/Elective subjects concerned.
• For admission in Anthropology, Mass Communication, and Social Work, candidates with a graduate degree in either Science or Social Sciences are eligible to apply.
• Candidates awaiting results of their UG final semester examinations can apply and appear in the entrance test, provided they produce their pass certificates and marksheets during admission.
• SC, ST, and OBC (NCL) candidates receive relaxation up to 5% marks in Pass and Honours courses. NCL candidates should provide NCL certificates issued for the current year.
• For admission in M.A. Hindi, Uttama (Sahitya Ratna) is considered equivalent to B.A (Hons.) in Hindi, while Visharad (from Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Allahabad)/ Praveen/ Ratna are considered equivalent to B.A. (Pass) in Hindi.
• Admission criteria include entrance marks and additional weightage, where applicable. However, merit remains the criteria for courses without entrance examinations.

Admission to the Ph.D. program :

• Admission to the Ph.D. program requires clearing an entrance test (RGUPET) conducted by the Examination Branch, except for candidates with valid UGC / CSIR-JRFship before the entrance test.
• Candidates with 55% marks in Master’s Degree in the concerned/allied subjects or as specified in the regulations and guidelines for the Ph.D. program from any recognized /Institution are eligible to appear for the test. SC / ST / OBC (NCL) candidates receive a 5% relaxation in marks.
• Qualified candidates must produce certificates during the Viva-Voce. NCL candidates should provide NCL certificates issued for the current year.
• Candidates who pass the entrance test will need to attend an interview. Guidelines and forms are available in the Academic Branch of the .
• Regular Ph.D. scholars admitted are eligible for UGC (non-NET) Fellowship. Dates for the entrance test are separately notified by the Academic Branch of the .
• Candidates with an MPhil from Rajiv Gandhi or any other UGC recognized are exempted from the written entrance test and will directly appear for a personal interview in the department/institute, along with those who clear the entrance test.

Admission to the B.Ed. program :

• Admission to the B.Ed. program comprises 100 seats, with reserved seats for deputed teachers nominated by the Department of , Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, as well as for Sports and Wards of RGU Employees (Supernumerary).
• The remaining seats, along with an additional 10 seats for EWS, are divided equally between Direct seats and Paid seats, filled based on merit and reservation for various categories.
• Admission to Paid seats is granted based on merit in the entrance test and additional weightage, if any, upon payment of additional fees. Reservation rules of the apply to Paid seats as well.
• Candidates with 55% marks in Post Graduate degree (M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Com / MCA / M.Sc. in Agriculture / Horticulture or B.E. / B.Tech. with specialisation in Mathematics) and 50% marks in graduation from Rajiv Gandhi or any recognized are eligible for admission to the B.Ed. Two Year Programme.
• State Govt. sponsored (deputed) teachers with a 10+2+2 pattern can also be admitted to the B.Ed. program.
• SC, ST, and OBC (NCL) candidates receive a relaxation of 5% marks, with OBC (NCL) candidates required to provide a Non-creamy layer certificate issued for the current calendar year.
• Selected candidates for Direct and Paid seats must submit an undertaking confirming they are not in service. In case of being in-service, a “No Objection Certificate” along with a two-year leave approval letter from the employer is required; failure to provide these documents will result in admission cancellation.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical with 45% marks.
• Bachelor’s Degree in any Discipline with 45% marks and studied physical education as a compulsory/elective subject.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 45% marks and participation in National / Inter / State level competitions or securing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd position in Inter College / Inter Zonal / District / School competitions recognised by AIU/IOA/SGFI/Govt. of India.
• Bachelor’s Degree with participation in International Competitions or securing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd position in National/Inter- competitions in sports and games recognized by respective federations / AIU / IOA / SGFI / Govt. of India.
• Graduation with 45% marks and at least three years of teaching experience for deputed/in-service candidates, i.e., trained physical education teachers and coaches.
