After presenting its interim budget on February 8, 2024, the Rajasthan government has now unveiled its full budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 in the state legislature on July 10. State Finance Minister Diya Kumari delivered the budget speech, outlining various announcements aimed at all sections of society. The budget endeavors to address the needs of farmers, women, youth, government employees, and other segments of the population. Overall, the government has introduced several new initiatives in this budget to benefit the public.

Agricultural Initiatives for Farmers :
  • 45,000 agriculture connections will provided to farmers.
  • Daytime electricity will provided for irrigation.
  • Interest-free crop loans will distributed to farmers.
  • Support will provided to promote organic and traditional farming.
  • Farmers will receive ₹10,000 assistance to produce manure from cow dung at the block level.
  • Agri Clinics will established at each district headquarters.
  • CM Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana will launched for livestock farmers.
  • Energy Conservation Mission will initiated.
Process to Avail Benefits :
  • Livestock rearers must participate in the inflation relief camps organized in collaboration with administration campaigns in rural and urban areas of Rajasthan.
  • Livestock rearers can insure two milch animals free of cost during these campaigns.
  • Each animal will insured for Rs. 40,000 under the scheme.
  • Possession of an Aadhaar card is mandatory for registering in the scheme.
  • In case of sudden death of insured animals, the Rajasthan government will provide a claim of Rs. 40,000 to the livestock rearer.
  • To claim the insured amount for the deceased animal, the livestock rearer needs to visit the nearest Animal Husbandry Department office.
  • They must fill out a claim form received from the department, attach all necessary documents related to livestock insurance, and submit them at the department office.
  • After verification, the claimed insurance amount will transferred to the livestock rearer’s bank account.
How to File a Claim ?
  • Claims must filed within 21 days of the milch animal’s death.
  • Notify at number 181 or inform the nearest e-friend or veterinary hospital about the death.
  • A surveyor from the insurance company will visit the livestock rearer’s residence to verify the claim and process the necessary paperwork.
  • A post-mortem will conducted by a veterinarian, or if not possible, a panchnama will prepared.
  • The insurance surveyor will upload the original insurance policy, post-mortem report or panchnama, details of the livestock rearer’s bank account, and photos of the deceased animal on the insurance company’s portal.
  • Upon approval of the claim within 15 days, the insurance company will transfer the approved amount to the livestock rearer’s bank account.
  • Once the claim is approved, the Rajasthan government will provide the claimed amount to the livestock rearer for the death of the insured animal under the Chief Minister Kamdhenu Livestock Insurance Scheme.
Eligibility Criteria :
  • Must a permanent resident of Rajasthan.
  • Must a farmer or livestock rearer.
  • Only milch cows of indigenous breeds will insured under the scheme.
  • Maximum of two milch animals per family will insured under the scheme.
