The Central Government is currently working on a scheme called the ‘Lakhpati Didi Yojana’ (Millionaire Sister Scheme), aiming to create 3 crore Lakhpati Didis (millionaire sisters) across the country. So far, this scheme has helped approximately one crore women become Lakhpati Didis, bringing significant changes to their lives. Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, the government aims to uplift 15 lakh women across the state. Over the span of five years, 2 lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs) will established, with initial financial support extended to 25,000 groups. These SHGs will receive facilitation in the form of loans, accessible at an annual interest rate of 2.5%. This initiative is designed to empower women by enabling them to engage in sustainable livelihood activities through structured group dynamics and financial assistance, thereby fostering economic independence and growth within their communities.

How to Apply for Lakhpati Didi Yojana ?

• Visit your local Self-Help Group (SHG) to enroll in the Lakhpati Didi Yojana. The SHG will assist you in preparing your application and business plan. Detailed information about this scheme can obtained from your nearest Anganwadi center.
• Gather the necessary documents, including your Aadhaar card, bank account details, SHG registration certificate, SHG meeting minutes, and business plan.
• Submit your application to your local SHG. The SHG will review your application and forward it to the government.
• The government will review your application. If approved, they will contact you to proceed with obtaining the loan.

Eligibility for Lakhpati Didi Yojana :

• Must a permanent resident of the respective state to avail benefits.
• Must a member of self-help groups.
• Age criteria: Women aged between 18 and 50 years are eligible.
• Annual income should less than Rs. 1,00,000.
• Only women are eligible to apply for the Chief Minister Lakhpati Didi Yojana.
