The objective of the Vishwakarma Yojana is to recognize artisans and craftsmen as ‘Vishwakarma’ and make them eligible for all the benefits under the scheme.

Budget Allocation :
  • The government has allocated a budget of Rs. 13,000 crores for the PM Vishwakarma Yojana.
  • The government aims to enhance the work of artisans by providing loans at affordable interest rates, thereby promoting their progress.

  • The scheme was launched on September 17, 2023, coinciding with Vishwakarma Day.

Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana Benefits :

PM Vishwakarma Payment Details :
  • The Vishwakarma scheme will offer two types of skill development programs: Basic and Advanced.
  • Participants enrolled in these courses will receive a stipend.
  • Beneficiaries undergoing skill training will receive a stipend of 500 rupees per day.
  • In the initial phase of the scheme, a loan of up to one lakh rupees will provided at a nominal interest rate of a maximum of five percent.
  • Upon establishing the business, the second phase will offer a subsidized loan of 2 lakh rupees.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Online Application :
  • Open the PM Vishwakarma website and click on the “login” drop-down.
  • Select “CSC Login” from the dropdown and choose “CSC- View E-Shram Data”.
  •  Log in with your CSC User Name and Password.
  • View E-Shram registered applicant details and contact them for PM Vishwakarma registration.
  • Select “CSC- Register Artisans” from the login dropdown.
  • Log in again with CSC credentials.
  • Answer “No” to government employee and past loan questions, then click “Continue”.
  • Enter and verify the Artisan’s Aadhaar Linked Mobile Number using OTP.
  • Perform Aadhaar authentication using biometrics.
  • Fill out the Registration Form with personal details auto-fetched from Aadhaar.
  • Enter contact details, including Pan Card Number if available.
  • Auto-populate or manually enter family details using the ration card number.
  • Fill in the Aadhaar Address Detail Section, including state, district, and PIN code.
  • Enter current address details if different from Aadhaar address.
  • Select the Artisan’s profession/trade and provide business address details.
  • Enter bank details, including account number and IFSC code.
  • Indicate if credit support is needed, specify amount, and select loan bank/branch.
  • Provide UPI ID details if applicable.
  • Review scheme benefits in the Skill Training and Tool Kit sections.
  • Choose Marketing Support benefits under the scheme.
  • Accept the Declaration and Terms and Conditions, then submit the form to generate a Registration Number.
Eligibility Criteria for PM Vishwakarma Yojana :
  • Artisan or craftsperson engaged in one of the 18 family-based traditional trades mentioned in the scheme, operating in the unorganized sector on a self-employment basis.
  • Minimum age of the beneficiary should 18 years at the time of registration.
  • Beneficiary should actively involved in the concerned trade at the time of registration and should not have availed loans under similar credit-based schemes of the Central or State Government for self-employment/business development in the past 5 years.
  • Registration and benefits under the Scheme are limited to one member per family, with a ‘family’ defined as including the husband, wife, and unmarried children.
  • Individuals in government service and their family members are not eligible under the Scheme.

  • Verified registration details from Step 1 are transmitted online to the District Implementation Committee for further scrutiny.
  • District Implementation Committee reviews the applications, ensuring thorough vetting and endorsement of beneficiaries’ requests.
  • Final approval for beneficiary registration is granted by the Screening Committee, chaired by a field officer from the Office of DC-MSME.
  • The Screening Committee, comprising members such as the State Lead Bank Manager and representatives of MSDE in each State / UT, conducts due diligence and considers recommendations from the District Implementation Committee before approving registrations.
