Eligibility for the 4th Round of Counseling :

All eligible candidates for SHRESHTA 2024 may participate in the 4th Round of Counseling, except for the following :

  • Candidates who reported to the allotted school in Rounds 1, 2, or 3.
  • Candidates who failed to report to the allotted school after receiving a seat in Rounds 1, 2, or 3.

National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA (NETS) :

SHRESHTA Schools – Best CBSE Private Residential Schools :
  • Purpose : Each year, a designated number of meritorious SC students across States/UTs will selected through the National Entrance Test for SHRESHTA, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). They will admitted to the best private residential schools chosen based on the CBSE database.
  • Residential Schools : The selection includes residential schools recommended under SHRESHTA by District Authorities for the academic year 2021-22. Eligible private residential schools affiliated with any Board, including State Boards, are also recommended by District Authorities for participation in this scheme.
  • Admission Criteria : Students will admitted into classes 9th and 11th with the aim of completing their education up to the 12th standard. Selection is based on performance in the NTA-conducted entrance test.
  • Further : Upon completion of their schooling, students may transition to the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme or Top-Class Scheme, which provide financial support for their higher education pursuits.
Eligibility Criteria : 
  • Student Eligibility : Only SC students currently enrolled in recognized schools, whether private, government, or local body schools, are eligible.
  • Class 9 Admission : Students applying for admission to Class 9 must have passed Class 8 in the academic year immediately preceding the year of admission.
  • Class 11 Admission : Students applying for admission to Class 11 must have passed Class 10 in the academic year immediately preceding the year of admission.
  • Income Criteria : The annual parental income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs.
  • Documentation : Caste and Income certificates must uploaded before participating in web counselling.
  • Exclusion : Students already benefiting from the Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme of the Department are not eligible to apply.

Scholarship Coverage :
  • The scholarships provided to students will encompass both School Fee (including tuition fee) and Hostel Fee (including mess charges), subject to specified maximum limits.
  • The disbursal of scholarships towards tuition and hostel fees will based on the actual charges levied by the school or the prescribed limit, whichever is lower, as detailed in the table above. No additional fees or charges will imposed on the beneficiaries by SHRESHTA Schools.
Disbursement Process :
  • Scholarships will disbursed in a single installment directly to the schools’ accounts through an online process facilitated by the e-Anudaan portal of the Ministry.
Utilization Certificate Requirement :
  • For subsequent years, the release of scholarships will contingent upon the schools furnishing Utilization Certificates in accordance with the provisions stipulated in the General Financial Rules (GFR).

Continuation and Support :
