• Background Information :
  • The NSP introduced the face-authentication service in AY 2023-24 as an optional feature for students.
  • Students who performed face authentication in AY 2023-24 were assigned a One Time Registration (OTR) number, which was sent via SMS to their registered mobile numbers.
• Application Process :
  • Students who have received the OTR number can directly apply for the scholarship on the NSP portal.
  • If a student did not receive the OTR number via SMS, they can retrieve it using the “Know your OTR” option available on the National Scholarship Portal.

B. Instructions for Students Who Have Received the Reference Number via SMS :

• Reference Number Information :
  • Students who completed OTP-based eKYC but did not perform face-authentication in AY 2023-24 have allotted a reference number.
  • To obtain the OTR number, students must complete face authentication on the NSP Portal for 2024-25.
• Steps to Generate OTR Number :
  • Download and Install Aadhaar Face RD Services :
    • After installing the app, open it to see the main screen.
    • Select the “eKYC with FaceAuth” option, which is highlighted in red.
