The Odisha Government has launched a new scheme for laptop distribution. The scheme is for meritorious students across the state. The laptops are distributed under the Biju Yuvasashakitikarna Yojana. The aim is to digitalise the education for all students. Students from all the 3 streams Science, Commerce, Arts and Business can avail the benefits. The objective is to provide it for over 15000 students. The procedure to apply, the required documents and all the essential information will covered under this article. Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana 2024 :

• Objective : Improve overall student development and prepare them for competitive exams.
• Laptop Distribution : By the end of December, 15,000 selected students will given laptops.
• Eligibility : Laptops are available for students from all fields: Sanskrit, Science, Arts, Commerce, and Business.
• Nodal Centres : There are 30 nodal centres set up for the laptop distribution.
• Implementation : The DHE Board will manage the Odisha Free Laptop Distribution Scheme and the Odisha Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Scheme 2024.

1. Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Program : Beneficiaries will receive Rs. 30,000 directly from the government instead of a laptop.
2. Coverage : This includes vocational students graduating from CHSE (O) and Upashashtri students from Shri Jagannath Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Puri.
3. Budget : The scheme has a total budget of Rs. 45 crores for this year.
4. Application Process : An online module has been created on the SAMS portal for students to apply and find detailed program information.

Steps to Register for Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana 2024 :

• Visit the Official Website : Navigate to the Odisha State Scholarship Portal.
• Access Registration : Click the “Registration” button on the homepage.
• Review Instructions : Read the guidelines and accept the declaration.
• Proceed to Form : Select the “Proceed” button to access the registration form.
• Enter Aadhar Number : Fill in your Aadhar number and verify it.
• Complete Registration Form : Provide necessary details like Name, Mobile Number, Email ID, and create a password.

Eligibility Criteria for Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana :

Residence : Must resident of a Odisha State.

: Class 12th students of all streams.

Age Limit : Students should fall under the age limit of 18 to 25

From : Only students enrolled in the Government Institutions.

Class 12 Score : Must have scored minimum of 70% in class 12.

Procedure for Selecting and Disbursing Financial Assistance :

Collection of Lists of Meritorious Students :

• Source : Lists are gathered from the Council of Higher Secondary Examination (CHSE), Odisha, and Sri Jagannath Sanskrit Vishwa Vidyalaya (SJSV), Puri.
• Criteria : Based on merit for students who have successfully completed the Annual Higher Secondary Examination (Arts /Science /Commerce) or the Upashastri Examination.
• Total Students : In 2023, a total of 290,500 students passed the AHSE.

Preparation of Beneficiary Lists :

• Categorization : Lists are organized by block, district, stream, and category.
• Data Source : Information supplied by CHSE and SJSV.

Selection of Eligible Beneficiaries :

• Criteria : Students are chosen based on their marks, with a preference for those scoring 60% and above.
• Publication : The names will posted on the Department’s website and the State Scholarship Portal – scholarship.odisha.gov.in.
• Application : Eligible students must apply via the State Scholarship Portal to receive Rs. 30,000 for purchasing a laptop.

Aadhaar and Mobile Number Requirement :

• Mandatory : Beneficiaries must have an Aadhaar number and a mobile number linked to it to obtain login credentials during registration.

Application and Disbursal :

• Eligibility : Only students listed as beneficiaries can apply after completing their registration.
• Document Upload : Students need to upload their bank passbook to receive the direct bank transfer amount of Rs. 30,000 into their bank account.

Budget Provision :

• Funding : A budget has been allocated in the State Plan scheme to support this initiative.
