Guest lecturer 2024-25 Apply :

1. The Department of College has announced that guest lecturer positions in Karnataka Government First Class Colleges will filled through a counselling process.

2. Recruitment activities had already begun before this instruction.

3. Candidates who served as guest lecturers in the academic year 2024-25 may continue in their respective colleges without counselling if they wish to do so.

4. These candidates must obtain workload details from the principals of their colleges before confirming their continuation. After the first round of Counselling, remaining vacancies will addressed in subsequent rounds.

  • Master’s degree.
  • Candidates must have a Master’s Degree, M.Phil, Ph.D., NET, K-SET, or SLET from a recognised board or university.

Age Limit : As per Department of Collegiate norms.

Necessary Documents For Guest Lecturer :

Salary and Workload Allocation :

1. Minimum salary : ₹31,000

2. Maximum salary : ₹40,000

3. Maximum workload hours :

  • 15 hours for Arts, Commerce, and Language subjects.
  • 19 hours for Science subjects and those with practical classes.

If the workload is less than the prescribed hours, the honorarium will adjusted according to the actual workload at the college level.

General Instructions Regarding Guest Lecturer Recruitment :

Selection Criteria :

Only experience working as a guest professor or part-time employee in Karnataka Government First Grade Colleges would taken into account.

Reporting to Duty :

  • Within three days of the announcement, candidates selected by merit list or Counselling must report to the college to which they have been assigned.
  • Guest lecturers who report to duty after workload changes or increases in the middle of the academic year shall released on the last academic day, in accordance with the 2024–25 academic timetable, without the 10-month extension.
  • Guest lecturers are not allowed to work at other schools or institutions. They are allotted a full-time workload of fifteen or nineteen hours.

Not Even After the Deadline : 

Under no circumstances will revision requests received after the final submission date considered.

Release following First Counselling Round : Ten months following their hire date, guest lecturers who were chosen for the first Counselling round will let go from their positions.

Mid-Year adjustments : Guest lecturers who report to duty after these adjustments will compensated for any changes in workload that occur mid-academic year.

Failure to Report for Duty : The next applicant on the merit list will chosen through Counselling if a guest lecturer is chosen and they do not show up at the designated college.

No Re-Entry for Missed Counselling : Applicants will not permitted to take part in the second round of Counselling if they skip the planned Counselling session or do not choose a college.

Submission of the Kalyana-Karnataka Reservation Certificate :

  • At the time of reporting, candidates who have been chosen under the Kalyana-Karnataka reservation must show the principal a valid certificate.
  • Failing to comply with this will lead to disqualification.

Selection Process :

  • Based on workload, guest speakers are chosen on a temporary basis without taking permanent consideration.
  • This temporary service will not given favour when applying for assistant professor posts or for permanent appointments.
  • It is not possible for guest speakers to receive bonus points or honors for their brief service.

Statement from the Principals :

  • All government college principals required to display the guest lecturer selection announcement on their notice boards.
  • Candidates should given comprehensive instructions on how to submit their applications online.

Qualification Consideration :

  • For the academic year 2024–2025, only educational credentials and service information received prior to the application deadline will taken into account.
  • Qualifications or service information obtained during the academic year or after the application deadline will not taken into account for merit lists or honorarium modifications.
