Cm Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme

The Mukhyamantrir Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan, was introduced by the Assamese government on September 12, 2023. With the aim of encouraging young entrepreneurship. This initiative was led by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. By offering new and aspiring entrepreneurs strong financial and policy support, this project seeks to reduce unemployment.

The program aims to empower young people by providing them with chances for self-employment, which will promote socioeconomic development and help Assam become more self-sufficient. The program would target 2 lakh beneficiaries over the following two years, with 1 lakh beneficiaries in FY 2024–25 and another 1 lakh beneficiaries in FY 2024–25. Through strengthening Assam’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, this project is anticipated to benefit people on a personal level as well as advance the state’s overall development.

Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Assam Abhijan in the Assam Budget for 2024-25 :

Eligible youths can apply online through a two-step process :

• Click “Online Application Form”: A new page will appear.
• Register: Fill in basic personal details.
• Login: Once registered, access the “Online Registration Form” and log in.
• Fill in Details: Add personal and educational information and upload necessary documents.
• Submit Application: After completing the form, submit it.
• Acknowledgment Receipt: An acknowledgment will be generated after submission.

Eligibility Criteria for Atmanirbhar Asom Scheme :

• Residency : A permanent resident of Assam.
• Age Limit : Between 28 and 40 years as of April 1, 2023.
• Age Relaxation : 3 years for OBC, SC, and ST candidates.

  • General Category: At least Class 10 completed.
  • OBC, SC, ST Categories : Up to Class 10.
• Professional Skills : Required skills and experience for income-generating activities.
• Bank Account : Must have an account opened before December 31, 2023.
• Loan Default : Should not have defaulted on loans from cooperative or nationalized banks.
• Government Service : No family members should be government employees or pensioners.
