Banaras Hindu (BHU) has initiated the registration process for undergraduate (UG) admissions for the academic session 2024-25 through its dedicated online portal. Prospective students can now access the BHU Admission Portal at bhucet.samarth.edu.in to begin their application journey. The registration window is open until August 05, 2024, providing students with ample time to complete their applications.

This year, admissions will be conducted based on the NTA CUET-UG results, allowing applicants to select their preferred subjects post result declaration. Aspiring candidates are encouraged to navigate the portal, fill out their details accurately, and prepare for the subsequent steps in the admission process, including payment of registration fees. Students are encouraged to complete their registration and provide their details. After the declaration of NTA CUET-UG results, they will have the opportunity to specify their subject preferences and proceed with payment of the registration fees.

BHU (Banaras Hindu ) Registration :

To register for BHU (Banaras Hindu ) admission for the academic year 2024 :

  1. Visit the BHU Official Website: Go to the official website of BHU – bhu.ac.in.
  2. Navigate to Admission Section : Look for the ‘Admission’ or ‘Academics’ section on the homepage. Usually, there will be a specific link or tab for admissions.
  3. Check for Latest Updates : Ensure you are on the latest information regarding admissions for the academic year 2024-25. Look for the specific details related to CUET (UG) – 2024 and CAP (UG) – 2024.
  4. Read Information Bulletins : Download and thoroughly read the following documents:
    • NTA CUET Information Bulletin.
    • BHU Undergraduate Information Bulletin (UGIB) – 2024.
    • BHU Combined Allotment Program for Undergraduate Courses [CAP (UG) – 2024].
  5. Prepare Required Documents : Scan and keep ready the necessary documents such as:

    • Birth Certificate.

  6. Registration Process : Start the registration process online.   7. Payment of Registration Fee : Pay the non-refundable Registration Fee online through the specified payment gateway. The fee amount varies based on the candidate’s category (UR /OBC-NCL /EWS or SC /ST /PwBD).
  8. Submit Application : After completing the registration form and payment, review all entered information carefully. Submit the application form online. Upon submission, you will receive a confirmation email or message.

Documents Required for BHU registration 2024 :
  1. 10th Mark Sheet : A scanned copy of your Class 10th mark sheet or certificate.
  2. 12th Mark Sheet : A scanned copy of your Class 12th mark sheet or certificate.
  3. Birth Certificate : A scanned copy of your birth certificate issued by a competent authority such as the municipal corporation or equivalent.
  4. Category Certificate (if applicable) : If you belong to a reserved category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD), you will need to provide a scanned copy of the category certificate issued by the competent authority. This is required to avail of any applicable reservation benefits.
  5. Other Relevant Documents : Depending on specific requirements or circumstances, BHU may ask for additional documents. These could include:
    • Transfer certificate (TC) from the last institution attended.
    • Character certificate.
    • Passport-size photograph(s) as per specifications.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES BEFORE ONLINE REGISTRATION :
Admission Criteria :
  • Admission to all Undergraduate (UG) Programs at BHU for the academic year 2024-25 will be based solely on the Common Entrance Test-Undergraduate 2024 (CUET (UG) – 2024).
  • BHU has implemented the Combined Allotment Program for Undergraduate Courses [CAP (UG) – 2024].
Preparation and Understanding :
  • NTA CUET Information Bulletin.
  • BHU Undergraduate Information Bulletin (UGIB) – 2024.
  • BHU Combined Allotment Program for Undergraduate Courses [CAP (UG) – 2024].
Basic Eligibility Criteria :
  • CUET UG test(s) chosen in the NTA-conducted examination.
  • NTA-CUET (UG) score relevant to the desired BHU UG Program.
  • Subjects studied at the 10+2 level.
  • Percentage of marks obtained at the 10+2 level.
  • Correct details of Date of Birth, Gender, Category claim (if applicable), and selected UG Program as opted in the NTA entrance examination. Discrepancies may result in candidature cancellation.
Registration Requirements :
  • Registration for BHU admission will be linked to the NTA Application Number; hence, candidates must have a valid NTA Application Number.
  • Prepare scanned copies (jpeg or pdf format) of essential documents: 10th Mark sheet, 12th Mark sheet, Birth Certificate, Category Certificate (if applicable), and other relevant documents.
Additional Considerations :

Admission to Ph.D. Programme for 2024-25 Academic Session :
Admission Criteria Update :
  • Banaras Hindu (BHU) has decided, as per the UGC notification on March 27, 2024, to utilize the scores from the UGC/CSIR NET Examination held in June 2024 for admission to the Ph.D. programme.
  • There will be no separate Research Entrance Test (RET) conducted by the for admission.
Modes of Admission :

BHU offers two modes of admission :

1. Research Entrance Test (RET) Mode

  • Candidates eligible under this mode include JRF qualified candidates and those qualifying for Categories II and III of the UGC/CSIR NET Exam June 2024.
  • Note: For the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, admission will also consider scores from the Agricultural Services Recruitment Board (ASRB) Examination 2024.

2. Research Entrance Test – Exempted (RET-Exempted) Mode

  • Exclusive to JRF qualified candidates.
  • Applicants in this category are exempted from the RET.
Application Advice :
  • Prospective candidates are advised to apply for the UGC /CSIR NET Examinations scheduled for June 2024.
  • Previous NET scores will not be considered valid for PhD admission at BHU for the academic session 2024-25.
