The Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural (ANGRAU) is going soon release its Admission Notification for the academic year 2024-25, hinting the start of admission to agricultural education and research. Eligibility :
- Applicants must have passed the two-year Intermediate Examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate , A.P., or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the or Board of Intermediate .
- The examination should include the following subjects:

- Biological or Natural Sciences
Age Criteria :
- Candidates seeking admission to these courses must have completed 17 years of age by 31st December 2024 of the admission year.
- There is an upper age limit of 22 years for all candidates.
- SC and ST candidates have an upper age limit of 25 years.
- Physically Challenged candidates have an upper age limit of 27 years.

II. Academic Eligibility and Selection Process :
- Candidates holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture / Agricultural Engineering and Technology / Home Science / Community Science are eligible for admission to the M.Sc. program.
- Minimum OGPA of 6.50 on a 10.0 scale or its equivalent percentage of marks is required.
- The Bachelor’s degree must obtained from institutes / colleges accredited by ICAR or affiliated colleges with SAUs having ICAR accreditation.
- Selection is based on undergraduate merit.
- NRI candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subjects from foreign universities are also eligible, with English proficiency certification (IELTS / TOEFL) required for foreign students only.
III. Duration, Medium of Instruction, System of of Degree Programmes :
- M.Sc. programs, including MBA (ABM), typically span two academic years (4 Semesters).
- Instruction is conducted in English only.
- Semester system is followed for education delivery.
IV. Admission Procedure :
- An admission committee selects eligible candidates based on merit and recommended to the for approval.
- Upon approval, the Registrar notifies and communicates the admission details to the candidates.
- Academic regulations for Master’s degree programs apply to NRI students as well.
V. Reservation of Seats :
- 30% of seats are reserved for NRI / in lieu of NRI candidates across the three faculties : Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering & Technology, and Community Science.
- Within each faculty, seats are distributed with two seats per department in the faculties of Community Science and Agricultural Engineering & Technology.
- The remaining seats (39) are allocated to the Faculty of Agriculture based on demand.
- Admission is based on the merit of candidates in the given discipline.
VI. Fee Structure :
- NRI/in lieu of NRI candidates are required to pay an Institutional Economic Fee of US $5000 (or equivalent Indian currency) per annum for the Master’s degree program / MBA (ABM).
- Regular fees are to paid every semester as prescribed.
- Fee amounts may vary over time.
- Conversion from US dollars to Indian rupees is based on the existing rate at the time of payment.
- Candidates failing to complete the Master’s degree program within the regular time limit must register for subsequent semesters and pay fees / charges as prescribed until completion within the maximum time limit of 5 academic years.

II. Academic Eligibility and Selection Process :
- Applicants holding a Master’s Degree in Agriculture / Agricultural Engineering and Technology / Home Science / Community Science are eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program.
- Minimum OGPA of 6.50 on a 10.0 scale or 2.60 or above on a 4.00 point scale, or its equivalent percentage of marks is required.
- Candidates must have obtained their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from institutes/colleges accredited by ICAR or affiliated colleges with SAUs having ICAR accreditation.
- Selection is based on previous academic performance at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, along with an interview, in the ratio of 20:30:50 respectively.
- NRI candidates with Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in relevant subjects from foreign universities are also eligible, with English proficiency certification (IELTS / TOEFL) required for foreign students only.
III. Duration, Medium of Instruction, System of of Degree Programmes :
- Doctoral Degree programs typically require a minimum of three academic years (6 Semesters) for completion of coursework, research, thesis/project report preparation, and examination leading to the award of the doctoral degree. The maximum time limit is 7 academic years as per BSMA regulations.
- Instruction is conducted in English under the semester system.

- Academic regulations for doctoral degree programs apply to NRI students as well.
V. Reservation of Seats for ANGRAU Admission :
- 30% of seats are reserved for NRI/In lieu of NRI candidates across the three faculties: Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering & Technology, and Community Science.
- Allocation of seats is as follows: 11 seats to the Faculty of Agriculture (1 seat per department), 1 seat to Agricultural Engineering & Technology (rotational basis among three disciplines), and 1 seat to Community Science (rotational basis between two disciplines), interconvertible among faculties.
- The upper limit of seats per discipline among different faculties offering the Ph.D. program limited to two.
- Unfilled seats filled based on demand in succession, ignoring upper limits.
VI. Fee Structure :
- NRI/In lieu of NRI candidates must pay an Institutional Economic Fee of US $5000 (or equivalent Indian currency) per annum for the doctoral degree program.
- Regular fees are to paid every semester as prescribed.
- Candidates failing to complete the doctoral degree program within the regular time limit must register for subsequent semesters and pay fees / charges as prescribed until completion within the maximum time limit of 7 academic years.
VII. Application Process and Fee :
- Applicants can download the application form (PDF) from the Website : angrau.ac.in
- The completed application form, along with photocopies of educational documents. a notarized affidavit of the Undertaking by the parent and candidate, including a physical fitness certificate from Government Hospitals, must submitted.
- A Demand Draft (DD) for Rs.1500/- (Rupees Fifteen Hundred only), drawn in favor of Comptroller, ANGRAU, Lam, Guntur, should accompany the application.
- Applications can submitted to the Registrar, ANGRAU, Lam, Guntur. either by post or personally during office hours on working days (Monday to Friday from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM).
- The deadline for submission of applications under the NRI/In lieu of NRI Quota is 01-01-2024, by 4:00 PM.
