The Directorate of Technical (DoTE), located in Chennai, will start conducting TNEA 2025 counseling in May 2025 for admissions based on class 12 grades for BE/BTech, BE (Sandwich), and MTech (Integrated). Government, assisted, and Anna -affiliated colleges share a single online system. After passing 10+2 in 2025, eligible candidates need to register at tneaonline.org and create login credentials for all counseling procedures, such as fee payment, seat assignment, and rank list release. The majority of procedures take place online, while certificate verification takes place at specific TFCs. General, supplemental, and SCA to SC counseling sessions are all included in TNEA 2025.

 

Steps in the TNEA Admission Process :

1. Registration: Students need to register on the official website, tneaonline.org.
2. Online Application and Certificate Upload: Fill out the application form online and upload necessary certificates.
3. Allotment of Random Numbers: Candidates receive random numbers for the admission process.
4. Certificate Verification: Documents are verified online at Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions Facilitation Centres (TFCs).
5. Rank List and Grievance Redressal: A rank list is published, and candidates can raise grievances if needed.
6. Online Counseling: This involves filling out choices, seat allocation, confirming seats, and reporting to the assigned college.

During TNEA Counseling 2025, all uploaded certificates will be verified online at TFCs. Sportspersons must present themselves in person for verification in Chennai. Successfully verified candidates will make it onto the TNEA 2025 merit list based on their rankings. Various TFCs are established to assist with document verification and seat allocation in TNEA counseling.

• Registration:
  • Candidates need to register by filling out the required information.
  • An OTP will be sent to verify the registration.
  • After verification, the TNEA user ID will be sent to the mobile number provided.
• Login:
  • Log in using the user ID and password received to access the TNEA application form.
• Filling the Application Form:
  • Fill out the TNEA application form with:

• Preview and Final Submission:

TNEA Eligibility Criteria 2025 :

Nationality: Only Indian citizens can apply for TNEA counselling 2025.

Nativity Requirements :

Tamil Native Candidates :

• Those who finished grades VIII to XII in Tamil Nadu do not need a Nativity Certificate.
• Tamil Nadu natives who studied grades VIII to XII elsewhere must provide a digital Nativity Certificate.
• Children of Tamil Nadu cadre officers in the All India Service can apply with a self-declaration from their parent about their job.

Non-Tamil Candidates :

• Children of Central Government workers can apply if their parents have been employed in Tamil Nadu for the last five years, supported by an employment certificate.
• Children of Public Sector or government-recognized institution employees in Tamil Nadu for five years can also apply, needing proof of permanent employment like Income Tax returns or PF slips.
• Candidates from other states who completed grades VIII to XII in Tamil Nadu do not need a Nativity Certificate.

Sri Lankan Tamil Refugees :

• Refugees studying in Tamil Nadu are eligible for open competition. Required documents include:
• An identification certificate from the Headquarters Tahsildar.
• Non-registered individuals must provide their original passport, visa, and police registration letter.

Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO): OCI/ PIO cardholders from Tamil Nadu can join TNEA counselling under the “Open Category.” This does not apply to those born abroad after March 4, 2021.

TNEA Counselling Process 2025 :

1. Counselling Stages : After verifying their certificates, candidates can join the online counselling, which occurs in several rounds. Applicants are organized according to their ranks, and each group attends counselling based on their turn.

2. Steps in Each Round of Counselling :

• Choice Filling: Candidates pick colleges and courses in their order of preference. It’s important to list choices carefully, and candidates can choose as many as they want.
• Seat Allotment: Seats are assigned based on rank, community, available seats, and the preferences given by candidates.
• Confirmation of Allotment: Candidates need to confirm their assigned seats within a given time.

3. Download Provisional Allotment and Report to College /TFC: Candidates must download the provisional allotment letter and go to the assigned college or TFC to complete the admission process.

4. TNEA 2025 Seat Allotment Checking Seat Allotment Results: The Directorate of Technical (DoTE) shares results on the TNEA official website. Candidates should log in using their registered email and password to see their results.

5. Options for Candidates: They can accept the seat or look at other options before the deadline.

6. Downloading TNEA 2025 Provisional Allotment Order: Candidates who choose “Accept and Join” need to download the order, report to the college, and finish the admission steps. Not following these steps will lead to losing the seat.

TNEA Counselling 2025 :

Confirmation of Allotted Seats Available Options :

1. Accept and Join: Confirm the seat and report to the college with the provisional order. Not doing this will cause the seat to be lost and bar from future rounds.
2. Accept and Upward: Keep the current seat while waiting for a better option in later rounds. If a better seat isn’t available, the previous choice stays.
3. Decline and Upward: Refuse the current seat but wait for a preferred one in later rounds.
4. Decline and Move to Next Round: Refuse the current seat and take part in the next round.
5. Decline and Quit: Refuse the current seat and choose not to continue in future rounds.
6. Upward or Move to Next Round (if no seat is allotted): Choose to wait for a better seat if one comes available.

TNEA 2025 Counselling Cutoff Scores :

• DoTE will release cutoffs for each category for TNEA 2024. These cutoff marks decide who is eligible for BTech course admission.
• Cutoffs differ by category and depend on various factors. After each counselling round, details about community cutoffs and seat allotment will be provided.

TNEA Counselling 2025 :

Joining and Admission Candidates who select “Accept and Upward” must get a provisional allocation order, visit a TFC, pay fees, and hand in their original certificates. Not following these steps will lead to seat cancellation and disqualification from future rounds.

TNEA 2025 Random Numbers :

Assignment of Random Numbers :

• All candidates will receive a 10-digit random number.
• This number serves as a tie-breaker for ranks in the TNEA merit list.
• Candidates with a higher random number will be prioritized in the merit list.

Accessing Random Number List : Candidates can view the TNEA 2024 Random Number List by logging in with their registration number and date of birth.

TNEA 2025 Choice Filling :

• Candidates should visit the official TNEA website and log in with their registered email ID and password.
• Fill in choices for colleges and courses in order of preference.
• Final choices are submitted by the given deadline.
• Seat allotment is based on preference order, rank, and the number of available seats in the eligible matrix.
