Eligibility Criteria for SSC Stenographer 2024 :

These eligibility criteria ensure that candidates meet the necessary requirements to apply for the SSC Stenographer exam based on their nationality and age qualifications.

– Subject of Nepal

– Subject of Bhutan

– Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of settling in India

– Indian origin person who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

– Candidates belonging to categories II, III, IV, and V must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Indian Government.

Age Limit :– Stenographer Grade C: 18 – 30 years

– Stenographer Grade D: 18 – 27 years

– Age relaxation –  SC /ST : 5 years

– OBC: 3 years

– PwD (Unreserved): 10 years

SSC Stenographer Answer Key :
  • Publication : The SSC Stenographer answer key released a few days after the examination.
  • Contents : Alongside the answer key, candidates’ response sheets and an objection tracker are also provided.
  • Access : Candidates can access the answer key and response sheets by logging in with their credentials.
  • Objection Procedure : Candidates can raise objections by paying INR 100 per question/answer challenged.
SSC Stenographer – Selection Process :
  • Application Form Release : The SSC Stenographer application form is made available online, with an application fee of INR 100. Women, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM) candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
  • Admit Card Issuance : The SSC Stenographer admit card is issued online through the commission’s regional websites. Candidates can download their admit cards using their registration ID /roll number /candidate’s name and password.
  • Computer-Based Test (CBT) : This is the initial stage for SSC Stenographer Grade C & D. It includes sections on General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language and Comprehension. The exam is worth a total of 200 marks.
  • Result Declaration : SSC Stenographer results are announced online for each stage of the examination. The results are published in PDF format and include the roll numbers of qualified candidates. Cut-off marks for various posts and categories are also disclosed along with the results.
  • Skill Test in Stenography : Shortlisted candidates from the computer-based test undergo a skill test in stenography. They are required to transcribe one dictation of 10 minutes either in English or Hindi. The typing speed required is 100 words per minute for Stenographer Grade C and 80 words per minute for Stenographer Grade D.
