Maharana Pratap Sports UNIVERSITY Rajasthan Admission 2024
Maharana Pratap Sports College has commenced final trials today for admissions. These trials will continue, with 60 children selected from 570 applications across the state. The college has established a talent hunt team to conduct trials in district stadiums across the state, shortlisting 230 students. After final trials at the college grounds, 60 seats will allotted for the upcoming academic session. Sports Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sonakar stated that the college has modified its sports policy to encourage participation, reflecting the increasing interest in sports careers and incentives.
System :
At Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun, the curriculum set by the education department is taught in Hindi medium from Class 6 to 12 in the Arts stream.
Admission Eligibility :
- Admission is only provided in Class 6.
- The applicant must a resident of Uttarakhand.
- At the time of admission, the child’s age should not more than 12 years as of 01.07.2019 for Class 6.
- The child must have a healthy body and an interest in sports.
- Medical Examination:
- During the main selection exam, the candidate will undergo a medical fitness and age test conducted by a medical officer. Only those found suitable will considered for final selection.
Certificates :
Before Main Selection Examination :
- Students must attach the following certificates with the application form along with a photo:
- Birth certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation /Municipal Council /Gram Panchayat.
- Mark sheet of passing Class 5 for admission to Class 6.
- Permanent residence certificate (Domicile certificate).
For Final Selection :
- In the event of final selection, students must submit the following certificates to the college:
- The original transfer certificate issued by the previous school, countersigned by the District School Inspector or Basic Officer, along with the Class 5 mark sheet.
- Original domicile certificate (residence certificate certified by a magistrate).
- An agreement bond with the college on a non-judicial stamp paper of ₹100.
- Four identical passport-size photos of the applicant.
- Proof of life /medical insurance for the student arranged by the guardian, which must provided to the college every year.

Department Scholarship and College Rules :
- Scholarships: Scholarships are awarded for winning medals in national school competitions and by the Uttarakhand Sports Department for national level achievements. Additionally, students with high marks in board exams are honored by the college.
Student Withdrawal and Expulsion :
Parents must notify the college before the start of the next session if they intend to withdraw their child. Failing to do so may result in forfeiture of the security deposit and recovery of all expenses incurred by the college.
The principal can expel students for the following reasons, with expenses for the session being recovered from the parents:
- Indiscipline : If a student does not follow college discipline or behaves inappropriately with staff and students, the principal has the right to expel the student.
- Academic / Performance Standards : If a student fails to meet academic or sports standards.
- State Code Violations : As listed in the state education code.
- State-Level Sports Performance : Students must achieve notable positions in state-level competitions within three years. Failure to meet this requirement can lead to expulsion.
- Health Issues : Serious illness or injury may result in dismissal (no expense recovery).

Academic and Sports Evaluation :
- Evaluation: Students’ academic and sports progress will evaluated monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually. Promotion is based on these evaluations and attendance.
- Annual Sports Evaluation: Conducted by a sports expert committee. Inadequate performance can lead to expulsion recommendations.
Mandatory Withdrawal :
Students must leave the school if they fail to meet the set standards in both sports and academics.
Re-Admission :
Re-admission allowed under the following conditions:
- Academic Performance: Students who fail in classes 6 to 11 can re-admitted based on exceptional sports skills or participation in national/international competitions.
- Annual Evaluation: Re-admission is granted if a student shows good academic performance and discipline despite failing once.
- Special Evaluation for Classes 8 and 10: Post-examination admission is based on a thorough evaluation by the expert committee, considering previous results and discipline.
