UGC Net 2024 Exam (Paper) Cancelled, Check New Rescheduled Date

To ensure the highest level of transparency and integrity in the examination process, the Ministry of has decided to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 examination. This year, the exam was conducted in pen and paper mode. The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the cancellation due to initial evidence indicating a compromise in the exam’s integrity. The case of examination irregularities will handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation. Now, UGC-NET June 2024 will be conducted between 21 August 2024 to 04 September 2024 in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

परीक्षा प्रक्रिया में उच्चतम स्तर की पारदर्शिता और अखंडता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए, शिक्षा मंत्रालय ने यूजीसी-नेट जून 2024 परीक्षा को रद्द करने का निर्णय लिया है। इस वर्ष परीक्षा पेन और पेपर मोड में आयोजित की गई थी। राष्ट्रीय परीक्षण एजेंसी (NTA) ने प्रारंभिक साक्ष्यों के आधार पर परीक्षा की अखंडता से समझौता होने के संकेत मिलने के कारण रद्दीकरण की घोषणा की। शिक्षा मंत्रालय ने कहा कि यूजीसी-नेट परीक्षा को पुनर्निर्धारित किया जाएगा और नई तिथियों की घोषणा जल्द ही की जाएगी। इसके अतिरिक्त, परीक्षा अनियमितताओं के मामले को आगे की जांच के लिए केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो (CBI) को सौंपा जाएगा।

Latest UGC-NET 2024 Update :

• The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination in OMR (pen and paper) mode on 18th June, 2024 in two shifts across various cities.
• On 19th June, 2024, the Grants Commission (UGC) received inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
• These inputs suggested that the integrity of the examination may have compromised.
• To ensure transparency and sanctity, the Ministry of decided to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination.
• The case has handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (C.B.I.) for further investigation.
• Fresh dates have been issued by UGC, UGC-NET Jun 2024 will be conducted from 21 August 2024 to 04 September 2024.

NET cancelled amid row over NEET :

• The Ministry’s decision to cancel the UGC-NET comes amid a significant controversy over the NEET medical entrance exam.
• Allegations of irregularities in NEET have led to the issue being taken up by the Supreme Court.
• The Ministry of has pledged to investigate the alleged irregularities in NEET-UG 2024.
• Complaints from candidates include concerns about unfair marking and a paper leak in the national medical entrance exam.

Ministry’s Statement :

• A fresh examination will be conducted, with details to shared separately.
• The matter is being handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough investigation.
• The decision follows inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs, suggesting that the integrity of the June 18 examination may have compromised.

Announcement of New Dates :

1. The NTA has ordered a fresh probe into the UGC NET Exam 2024 cancellation.
2. The matter has handed over to the CBI for investigation.
3. New dates for the NTA UGC NET June 2024 Exam have been announced. Exam will be conducted from 21 August 2024 to 04 September 2024 .
4. List of cities where exams being conducted will be uploaded on NTA’s official portal 10 days prior to the date of exam. Applicants are requested to check nta.ac.in for more inputs.

UGC NET 2024 Details :

• The National Eligibility Test (NET) has conducted exam in pen and paper mode for the first time this year.
• As per new guidelines UGC-NET Jun 2024 exam will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT).
• The exam held on a single day, June 18, 2024, with a record registration of 11 lakh students.
• The examination conducted in two shifts:
  • First Shift: 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
  • Second Shift: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
• The exam took place at 205 Exam Centres across 317 cities in India
