The women who applied for the project received their first installment of ₹1,000 transferred into their bank accounts on September 14, 2023, by the Tamil Nadu government.

The government established a special website, kmut.tn.gov.in, to give applicants access to pertinent information and enable them to monitor the status of their applications. The program, which was formally introduced in Kancheepuram on September 15, 2023, honours the late C N Annadurai, a well-known Dravidian politician, and attempts to enhance the financial well-being of women from poor families across the state.
